"Best Lead Actress" in thriller
"Death She Wrote"​
This is Samora's first nomination and first win for Canada's most prestigious acting award. She's thrilled & extremely humbled to see her work recognized and congratulates all of her fellow winners and nominees.
"The Kings of Napa"
Samora joins the OWN & Warner Bros. drama "The Kings of Napa" as a Recurring Guest Star. Samora plays Maddi Brewer, "A cool, chic, hilarious OB-GYN" who is besties with the new head of the King family, August King.

Highlights from the experience?
"There are so many, it's hard to name them, but working with our showrunner (and writer, and EP...), Janine Sherman-Barrois, who is producing the show under a multi-year, over-all deal with Warner Bros. has been a huge inspiration. She is incredible! Truly a boss.
Working on a production where real diversity and inclusion was top of mind in every department was new and very meaningful. A story about the richness of black culture and our layers and nuance--a literal dream. The story is so juicy! Getting the scripts each week was so exciting. The cast is phenomenal, you'll be blown away & fall in love. Also, shooting our pilot, when we'd all just met, crackling energy, joy and nerves with Oscar-winning director,
Matthew Cherry, is something that will be hard to top."

Highlights from the experience?
"First lead role, first time as #1 on the callsheet is a big deal for an actor! I'm not gonna play it cool, and pretend that wasn't a huge part of the appeal of the project. A great challenge for an actor, to see if you can tell a whole story, find a real journey, when the story is about what happens to you. It's like a little graduation as an actor. A moment for sure.

Working with Sharon, who is so great, and is an actor as well, was so solid. She gets it. Story + support. Key pairing. Working closely with Paula Brancati, who plays Mary was a real spar. She and I had a lot of fun on that one. She's so good. It was great fun."

"When I got the call that I would be reprising my role as Lieutenant Amin on Star Trek Short Treks I was so excited! It's an iconic franchise with the best fans in the galaxy. Getting to connect with the fans, and have them embrace me and my character the way they do, & seeing how much the message of Star Trek means to them is the best feeling in the world."

Far Cry 6 gets Release Date
Starring Giancarlo Esposito and set in the midst of a revolution on a fictional Carribean island, Far Cry 6 was a great opportunity to showcase my talents as a voice actor.

"I had a lot of fun creating this character through voice & accent! Working with dialect coach, Carlos Diaz, to perfect the regional accent, was a dream. One of the best parts of being an actor is not knowing what the next job will require, what new skill you'll pick up or which of your skills will be enhanced and upgraded by your work. It's wild!"
